We Are the Protectors

I was reading an article about indigenous peoples and the importance of their role and message to the earth in this time, in this place, as protectors of the land—actually, I would say, protectors of land, sea and air.  And I started thinking about how different groups, and then different individuals, are protectors, what we are protecting, and the precious value of what must be protected, preserved, and given to others. And the fact that sacredness itself requires preservation and loving care.

Each of us has our own unique place in protection of what is truly of value, preservation of sacred outlook, and transmission to others. We are the protectors of the sacred.

We are the protectors.

Protectors of land, sea and air,

Protectors of justice,

Protectors of knowledge and wisdom,

Protectors of peace,

Protectors of the dharma,

Protectors of beauty,

Protectors of loving kindness.

Protectors of the sacred.

We are the protectors.
